On 24–25 June, Marina Martin, Chair of the International Committee for Museum Architecture and Techniques of ICOM, and Duy Tung Dao, Board Member, represented the committee at the ICOM Annual Meetings, held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

As ICOM celebrated its 80th anniversary under the theme “Museums Uniting a Divided World,” the meetings provided an inspiring opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from other International Committees, National Committees, Regional Alliances and Working Groups, exchange experiences, and reflect on the role of museums in fostering dialogue, understanding and connections across cultures.

This gathering also marked an important moment for the entire ICOM community: the official adoption of the revised ICOM Code of Ethics, reinforcing the shared ethical principles that guide museum professionals worldwide.

For the committee, the event marked the starting point of an important transition, as ICOM ICAMT moves towards its new identity, ICOM ARCHI-TECHS. This new chapter offers exciting opportunities to strengthen the committee’s international visibility, foster new collaborations, and continue building meaningful dialogue in the fields of museum architecture and techniques.

A meaningful moment of celebration, transition and renewed commitment to the international museum community.
