The 52nd ICAMT & 1st ICOM STORAGE ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2026

Transforming Museum Spaces and Practices: Architecture, Sustainability, Collections, and Exhibitions in Latin America, the Caribbean and Beyond

Museos que transforman espacios y prácticas: Arquitectura, Sostenibilidad, Colecciones y Exposiciones en Latinoamérica, el Caribe y el mundo

will take place at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar – Quito, Ecuador,
next November 18, 19, 20,
with a Post-Conference Day on November 21, 2026.

This will be a joint event with the ICOM STORAGE Committee, with the support of ICOM Ecuador, and we’re already collecting proposals that relate to the following Sub-Themes:

1. Museums in Risk Territories: Architecture, Collections, and Resilience
2. Adaptive Reuse and Historic Museum Buildings
3. Museum storage as infrastructure: Sustainability Approaches
4. Hybrid Museum Spaces: Visible Storage and the Public Interface
5. Professional Practices and Collaborative Design
